The purpose of the Association for Women in Mathematics is to encourage women to study and to have active careers in the mathematical sciences, and to promote equal opportunity and the equal treatment of women in the mathematical sciences. Our chapter goals include mentoring and encouraging all students in mathematics.
The initiatives of the Texas A&M University AWM chapter have been recognized and funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, Mathematical Association of America, the Texas A&M University College of Science, and the Summer Math Foundation.
A support system where new graduate students are matched with senior graduate student mentors to ensure a smooth transition into graduate life and beyond.
